We have a camera set up in my dad's bedroom. I actually caught him just before he fell out of bed! While I'm sad about his lack of privacy, I'm glad I don't have to actually sit in his room all night.
I think back to being a new parent standing over a crib watching my child breath. Now, I watch the camera's feed on my phone, waiting for my dad to move, even just a little, so I know he's okay.
