Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
Horrifies me! I've started using sticky notes to help remember stuff for reviews. I do write in study/textbook kind of books.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears?
Dog-ears? no, no, no. flat bookmark ;-) My reading book has a metal hook marking my page right now....it is very cute, I'll get a picture later....

You put your books down? End of chapters are best. Sometimes I have to put the bookmark in and then stop as soon as I get to it without turning the page.

no, I can usually guess by context

Does it count that I'm getting it today? The Lost Symbol. Otherwise Homer's Odyssey.

I can have several going at once but usually concentrate more on one of them.

Anytime, any place. As long as I'm comfortable.

either but I like to start at the beginning of a series.

mostly whatever I'm reading at the moment or just finished.

I try for authors together or like-minded books
I love the name of your blog! We have totally different reading habits except that I also don't look up words. It's usually pretty easy to tell by content what the word means.

ReplyDeleteYou're the first person I've seen who has to bookmark the end of a chapter in order to stop. I thought I was the only one who had to do that! Otherwise I keep reading "just one more chapter" and suddenly it's 2am! *L*

ReplyDeleteI keep a reading journal with me when I read as often as possible and take notes in that. I will write in a book (in pencil) if I'm really desperate, but I don't like doing it.
