Terrific Tuesday

Happy 26th Anniversary to me! It's hard to believe I've been married for so long. I certainly don't think I'm old enough to be married that long but then my darling daughter reminds me that she's 25 now.

My husband left a package on the computer with a note "Do not open until the 16th. One of them is mine." Well, it's the 16th now, do I open it?

Have a great day!

Every Tuesday, she'll be posting the opening paragraph (maybe two) of her current read. Why don't you join us?

I woke abruptly to an ear-piercing scream and staggered out of the bedroom I shared with my cousins. The apartment was still dim, but in my dazed state i made out shadows, bumping into furniture like lost ghosts. I stood in the living room doorway, rubbing my eyes, dopey and puzzled in the faint morning light. Like a camera lens shifting from blurry to focused, the scene before me slowly sharpened. My grandmother wringing her hands together, her eyes bulging, her nostrils flaring in fear. My aunt, uncle and grandfather wailing like ragged banshees in their pyjamas: gasping screams, high-pitched shrieking, guttural noises. But in between I kept hearing the same three words, over and over.

"Oh my God, oh my God."

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Because Lally was the housekeeper, with a side order of helping him with his book research if required.

And Cameron was the boss. He was a little unconventional in his requirements at times, perhaps, because of his career as an author, but still the boss."

  1. Happy Anniversary to you; certainly a big milestone!

This Tuesday intro made me shiver a bit, I am curious what happened to cause this response.

Thank you!

I have no idea why the captcha thing is showing up. I've got the setting marked "no" that I don't want it. Grrrrrr! But, I believe that if you skip entering anything it will post.
