Book Blurb
It wouldn’t be summer without the Watermelon Festival, and single mom Amanda Wright is looking forward to a carefree day eating funnel cakes and sipping sweet tea. But with her inquisitive son and elderly grandmother in tow, she’s not in the mood for carnival rides or the kissing booth, until she hears a charming, funny voice over the loudspeaker.

Grant Trumbull is the new DJ at the local radio station, and his deep, booming cadence has all the ladies of the church auxiliary atwitter. Even without seeing his face, Amanda can’t help but wonder if he’s the one for her. When she finally comes face to face with the man behind the mic, summer is about to get a whole lot hotter in little Last Chance, South Carolina.

My Thoughts
Doesn't that cover make you want watermelon? I'm so looking forward to summer :-)

We're headed to the Watermelon Festival. Grandma's in the lead followed by Amanda's son . . .
Amanda brought up the rear, carrying a backpack with their water bottles, snacks, wet wipes, first aid pack, and assorted other emergency preparations. One did not travel with a bouncy five-year-old and a spry eighty-year-old without a supply of antiseptic ointment and Band-aids.
oh, this is going to be fun! back to reading. . .
The line for funnel cake was ridiculously long, given that it was just a little after nine in the morning.
Taking a deep breath, love the smell of funnel cake ;-) back to reading . . .

Wow. This isn't really a romance. It's a stressful day at the fair when you're a widow of a "bouncy five-year-old" and the caretaker of your Grandma. She may be a "spry eighty-year-old" but she keeps forgetting her husband died 6 months ago. Then a mother's nightmare comes true for Amanda when her child wonders off!

Yes, there's a happy ending. The only flaw I found is the length, it is a super short, short story but it's full of quirky characters and I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series.

  3. I really liked this one but yeah would have loved some of the romance actually being on the page after that day. Would have been great to see but I still enjoyed the characters and day :) It's been a nice series :)
