Saturday Snapshot and E is for . . .

Saturdays are for pictures I've taken and/or quotes.
Damage done in the 1994 Northridge quake near Magic Mountain

E is for earthquake.

There was a 5.1 earthquake a week ago. One of several quakes to hit the La Habra area and while I'm not in La Habra, I am close enough that there was some rocking going on and it was really loud.

There was no structural damage and minimal damage to contents at my place. Surprisingly enough none of my bookcases fell over and only two books fell off shelves.

Dang, I'm not sure you can read this. M and I were walking from Disneyland to California Adventures when I saw a family with matching shirts. No big deal, there are always groups that match, it is easier to find each other that way. The difference was that I had to read the t-shirts and laughed out loud. . . . "If you have been reading this shirt for longer than 20 minutes, this line is too long!"

And since is was a nice day in April, Spring break for many and a holiday for many. . . there were a LOT of lines that were too long.

To participate in Saturday Snapshot: post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky at West Metro Mommy Reads. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

  2. First thought - Dang! I'd hate to be stuck on that middle section of overpass.

Second thought - Well...I guess that would be better than being on one of the sections that fell away.

Even though we are not really close to the New Madras fault, we can still feel it sometimes.

  4. 1) Earthquakes scare the life out of me! I would constantly be terrified that one would happen while I was on an overpass like the one in your picture.

    2) That shirt is hilarious!

  5. Glad that the earthquake didn't do too much damage. I was in LA after the Northridge quake in 94 (?) and just remember all of the aftershocks. Those were scary enough!
That tshirt made me laugh too :)

Thank you!

I have no idea why the captcha thing is showing up. I've got the setting marked "no" that I don't want it. Grrrrrr! But, I believe that if you skip entering anything it will post.
