A is for . . .

A is for April Fool's Day
per Wikipedia: "Some newspapers, magazines, and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in small letters. Although popular since the 19th century, the day is not a public holiday in any country...The custom of setting aside a day for the playing of harmless pranks upon one's neighbor is recognized everywhere."

I've never been good at pranks and even though I like to think of myself as worldly, I am much too gullible for my own good and am easily fooled. Not as much now but that may be because I've changed friends over the years. ;-)

  1. Happy April to you! We never really did anything for April Fool's Day. Probably because my Dad didn't like practical jokes.

Love the way you rate your books. I have an A+ one I'm rereading right now. :)

  2. Hi visiting as part of the A to Z challenge. Like you I wasn't going to join in this year but here I am. I am not a great fan of April Fool jokes. I don't mind the ones that are over in a minute but I don't like being made to look a fool and don't like seeing other people humiliated by a so called joke.Maybe im just a party pooper. I'm at ozzypipquilts.blogspot.com if you want to come on over

  3. Happy April and Happy A-Z Challenge!

When I was a kid, I had tons of ideas of pranks to play but I hate having them played on me so I didn't do much pranking :) Now that I'm older, I avoid it as much as I can. Like you, I'm much too gullible (or, shall we say, trusting) and I hate when people play pranks that end up in loud embarrassment for me and those around me.

    Cheers!

  4. Thank you for visiting me today. I am easily fooled for April Fool's Day too. I tricked my hubby this morning and told him there were 5 squirrels at the bird feeder- there were only 2 :) whichh is bad enough.

  5. Oh I'm so bad at April Fool's too. I can't pull off a prank and do get caught in them fairly often. Ergs!

  6. I got talked into it (wasn't hard) at the last minute as well. Glad you are diving in as well. I'm like you, nor do I like deceiving people just for a thrill. Cheers!

  7. Not an April Fool's fan here. Seems like an excuse to do mean things for a lot of people.

Thank you!

I have no idea why the captcha thing is showing up. I've got the setting marked "no" that I don't want it. Grrrrrr! But, I believe that if you skip entering anything it will post.
