I don't think this has been updated at all since I started! Time I started crossing stuff off and adding to things, and wow, wouldn't a picture be nice. . .
M and I visited Red Rock Canyon (Oct 2012) just outside Las Vegas. Why yes, I am barefoot! We do have a picture showing how far up I had to climb and another showing how far of a drop-off the other side is but you don't see my feet or smile ;-) I'm hoping to update this next year. Still barefoot, still smiling, just weighing less and hiking more. And yeah, I'll put shoes on to hike.
~About Me~
I'm still a 40-something SAHM of adult children who loves to read and hates housework. I'm pushing 50 but I haven't gotten there yet! I have four children now as our daughter took the bunny when she moved out. Husband still only claims the two non-furry ones. The cats are Sneakers and Frisky.
I've learned a lot about me in my journey though blog space and while the above says something, it isn't all I am. I'm Christian. A quiet gay-rights supporter. Politically I'm too liberal to be a conservative and too conservative to be a liberal. I'm quietly going about my days, with my nose in a book. I'm hard of hearing so you may have to touch my shoulder or wave your hand in front of me to get my attention.
I use to think I read almost everything but since I started blogging, I have found that not to be true. You would think that someone who loves fantasy and cozy mysteries would steer clear of horror but not isn't what has happened. It's the "popular" novels, chick lit, dystopian and steampunk. And don't get me started on Twilight or 50 Shades!
I love Marg's about me: "My adventures through time and place, all without leaving the pages of my book. Reading is what I do to relax and escape, and talking about reading is my favourite hobby. You might find me immersed in historical fiction or romance, young adult, a mystery or a fantasy, but you can be sure that where ever I am, I will have a book with me!"
You'll rarely find me anywhere without a book! This has not changed, just the format. I have an iTouch with several book apps so I'm never without something to read. Vacations can be tough. Five days? Sure, I'll take my touch, laptop (different books) and maybe 10 print books. Who knows what will happen if I ever cruise around the world! Only once do I remember not taking a book on vacation. It was our 10th anniversary and we ended up at an author's book signing. Yes, I bought his book. Well, it was on my to-be-read list ;-)
All comments are emailed to me but if you want you can send me an email: bookdragonslair at gmail dot com. Don't forget to put something book related in the subject so I don't delete you.
edit May 2017: Thanks for reading this far! I'm getting ready to update this but haven't figured everything out just yet. Starting with . . .
I am a fifty-something year old mother of two grown children and in my third decade of being wife to M. We've lost one of the cats and both our Mothers. As to format, I've got the kindle app on my laptop and my iPhone, plus I've got an actual kindle. Have I stopped reading/buying print? No Way!
~About the Blog~
I'm trying to keep this blog all about books and things book related. An odd off-topic post will pop up but I'll try to keep them to a minimum.
Once the "Library" link at the top is working, it will take you to a different blog. I'm going to post my library, by author or series, as well as books I'd like to read. I'm a little anal and if I like an author/series I tend to want to read/own them all. This isn't working so I'm not sure what I'll do.
Another link will take you to a third blog because there's more to life than books. Shocking isn't it. :-) Not sure what to name the link though, Other Stuff? Nope. Too many blogs
. . . I've had some health related issues so my journey to get healthy will pop up. Mainly because it cuts into my reading time. I'm hoping to keep it contained to Friday. I'm also going through a "junk this" phase. Real life is too overwhelming so I went online. How many email accounts do I need? And blogs to match? Yikes. Clearing those out so they can be deleted gives me Wednesday Weirdness.
Happy Reading,
Gina, a book dragon
