My Mom didn't have her ID so she couldn't get a card. My Dad lost his $5. Grandpa introduced his youngest grandson to slot play and Son won $5.06 and cashed out. Husband won $42! Now, I just wanted to leave and we were playing the penny slots. I could have moved but the game was "Enchanted Unicorn" so I stayed there. Max Bet was clicked a couple of times....and $340 later I was cashing out!
So, that's my news - oh, and my Mom asked how many books I was going to get - the one who doesn't play the slots won big!
Ouch, was that the gambling bug that just bit me?
The Nonrunners Marathon Guide for Women and I Call Death Dad. . . .

Every Tuesday, she'll be posting the opening paragraph (maybe two) of her current read. Why don't you join us?
I bravely spent many months embedded in the marathon-training world. Much like the reporters who travel with soldiers during wartime, I barely made it out to tell my tale. What follows are my stories from the frontlines (or the backlines, as it were), as well as a training guide for those who want to follow in my recliner-to-race-day footsteps. How does one go from being a couch potato to finishing a marathon? One consumes a lot of ibuprofen.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
"Shoot, Mom, you make my father sound like he's a killer or something. Maybe a spy. Or even worse, an accountant," I gasped in mock horror.
