My Thoughts:
I've enjoyed every mpreg book by Aiden that I've read so far and expected no less from Second Chance. What I wasn't expecting was the intense dislike I'd have for one of the characters or the fear about some of the things that character does.

You know how in some movies/shows there's one character you  just can't stand? My husband laughs when I mention it because that's the character you're supposed to dislike. The developer in this book is so over the top unlikable that I can find no redeeming values in him. I can't even say "but his company employees so many people" because of his behavior towards our main characters, I'm sure all his employees would be better off if the company was run by someone else!

I haven't finished the book yet, I came to a part that made my heart race. Ty was last seen leading a bunch of kids to the 3rd story fire escape because of a fire. Now that that scene is over, I'm trying not to skip ahead! I'm sure it's a HEA but dang, Ty didn't make it out of the building and is listed as unaccounted for. I want to know, what has the developer done with Ty?!

Going back in

Ben and Ty live in the Gaslamp area of San Diego. I've been there so when they're talking about going some place I can smile because I know where they're talking about. Knowing that about this story, makes his other stories also more real, like they could happen today. I'm just waiting to see a couple of guys walking down the street holding hands, while one of them is pregnant.

Done. Yes it was a happy-ever-after but the journey was full of miscommunication, sexy times, stubbornness and danger.

The kindle version has a link to a bonus chapter. You'll need to sign up for the author's newsletter/club but the chapter isn't necessary to enjoy the rest of the book. Although I am going to read it next. ;-)

My Thoughts
(written as I read, crossing fingers there are no spoilers)

I first met Cisco and Greg while reading The Sunset Club series and was delighted to read that four of the characters had their own stories in the Indiscreet series.

I'm totally okay with BDSM stories but I think I've been spoiled by my own research and other writers. This D/s relationship, so far, doesn't feel correct. Several things come up during their first day that should have come during contract negotiations. Things an experienced Dom would have known about - at the very least, the club owner moderating the negotiations should have brought them up.

I love the characters themselves from the other series and their interactions with each other - I have high hopes for this book. Wish me luck!


grr . . .  Barebacking? Really? Is it still the first day? It wasn't even discussed! I'm really not sure about this series. If I didn't know about this couple from the other series that they show up in, I'd be trying to return this book.

back to reading, keeping my fingers crossed.

Getting better but the brand new sub and not quite a Dom qualities are showing through. It appears that Cisco doesn't really want a sub because he's a Dom, he wants a 24/7 (except work) maid/cook/boy-friend that he doesn't have to love. Oh, and total control of all the money. I'm hoping he gets his head out of his ass soon, I'm half way through the book.

Yes, yes, I know that even with a lot of mainstream couples, one partner has more control over the money than the other. My problem is that Cisco doesn't take the time to share with his sub how much money they have so when he buys a new Audi, on day two, the sub only has his own paycheck for reference and he's giving 75% of it to the Dom! How the hell is he (the sub) supposed to afford keep a new car in six months when the contract is up?

sigh, back to reading

Damn, communication is so important. Also add here a wow, that's a LOT of drama for only five days.

Oh I was expecting the trouble (you'll be able to spot it too) but, wow, that was over the top! At least Greg gets his happy ever after. And they finally learn to communicate. Not really a spoiler

Final words: This was book 3 of the series but the first I've read. So, will I continue? Yes, I'll get the books that have Brian and Jim in them. Maybe the rest if they stay on sale.

one last edit: I've since read book 6 in the series and the writing/relationship issures flows much better.

my thoughts:
I've been avoiding a favorite genre ever since 50 Shades came out. I read too many reviews to be happy buying it then someone asked, "Don't you think you should read it before you explain why it's a bad book?" Fine. Wow, couldn't finish it. Not like the usual BDSM books I buy at all. I thought he was a stalker and never even got to the sex.

So this book comes up and I'm wondering if it will follow the same way.

Nope. First, the review I read was from Anna (here) and I trust her. Started the book early Friday morning and read until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. Friday night I'm reading through dinner.

Now that you know where I'm coming from . . .

Lauren is no shrinking violet, or a virgin, and has some knowledge of the lifestyle. Conner surprises us both with his willingness to "go vanilla" for the most part. It eases Lauren's mind but I'm sure Conner is also thinking "hey, sex".

The nice thing about the story is that it isn't a sex story with a plot. It is true that a submissive is killed while in what looks to be a scene. Also true, the main male lead is a Dom and the lead female works with sex toys but I feel the who-done-it part would be just as strong with sexual tension instead of sex. That being said . . . I liked the sex. A lot.  ;-)  At one point they're snowed in and they're playful in their interactions. I didn't say the sex wasn't hot, just that they felt real to me.

She stared at his lips a little too long, but found that her body was ready for another tumble in the sheets… even though she couldn’t remember what round of sex they were on. She was coming to really appreciate this snowstorm.

back to reading . . .

Things weren’t going as planned. . . . It was time to clean up his mess. Loose ends had to be clipped and he knew just who to start with.

See? Not only great sex but a great story. Can't wait to find out how this ends!

Wow. I did not see that coming! My copy has a sneak peek of book 2 which I'll read later. Time for dinner, finally.

Don't be scared of the BDSM aspect, it isn't that heavy, and while the sex is there and you shouldn't skip it, it really isn't a sex book. Think jalapeno when mainstream books are chili pepper.

My Thoughts:
I've had the book awhile and didn't reread the blurb before starting it. Now I'm thinking poor Kitty!, she's fantasizing about the guy she's at the football game with and he thinks they need to talk after the game. Dang, she was told Aaron never dated a girl more than once but I'm thinking this isn't much of a date!

off to read . . .

This could have gone very badly! The deception could have had Kitty holding true to her phone call . . . "Her words sounded final, as though she never wanted to see him again" but fiction often demands a happy-ever-after.

There are a couple of questions but I believe one could be answered reading the previous books in the series and the other if the book itself was longer.

This could have been a quick and fun read but I had formatting problems with my review copy. The book itself was a sweet read and I'm thinking the two friends need books of their own.

My Thoughts
This is book 5. Usually I feel like I missed something and it distracts from the story. I didn't get that with this one. I do want to read more about the wolves but don't have the frustration of not knowing the whole story. That being said, I could tell that there was more to be said and will continue with the series.

Romance type stories usually have a happy ever after so we know Jace and Michelle get together. What we don't expect are the dangers and stumbles along the way that add up to a nice story. I really liked Michelle. She felt sassy as well as brave to me. Not too sure about Kate but she is Jace's sister and the situation did stink so maybe her behavior is excused somewhat.

What to say about Jace. Well, he's a male shifter and they're always written extra spicy but he's a little clueless when we first meet him and I loved that. He's also protective and ruthless when he needs to be.

The sexual tension was there from the beginning. From Jace's side, Michelle is his mate but also human so he's trying to be careful but I could hear his wolf growling in the background. From Michelle's side, she's found her dream man and "The fact he was gay hadn’t affected her late night fantasies one iota." and then later . . . 

"there was a man in her shower. A naked man. With the sexiest ass she’d ever seen. Said naked man slowly turned, letting the water sluice over his muscular, tanned frame. Unable to glance away, she ate up every second of the display."

Whew!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
