My treatments are over and I'm now at a monthly shot and daily pill. That's the good news. The bad news is that my dad had a stroke.
He was driving on a Friday and had a stroke sometime Saturday morning.
So I'm now trying to figure out my RL, still sucked into fanfiction, and being weekend graveyard caregiver for my dad. My brother who is living the closest is out of town on a job (wild fire team coordinator) so I've moved into his place to be closer. Luckily the siblings/dad can afford a part-time caregiver or I'd never make it!
All thoughts of talking to/with you at least weekly after treatment has flown the coop. I hope you enjoy whatever challenges you signed up for and have a GREAT reading year. I'm crossing my fingers that I can post challenges for 2020 but right now it doesn't look good.
Gina, a book dragon
because books are a treasure worth protecting
I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.
I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.
Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Gina: I'm so sorry about all that you've gone through in 2019--and am sorry I didn't stop by sooner to see what was going on with you. I do hope that 2020 will be a better year for you and your family.
I've been diligently reading away for your You Read How Many Books? challenge and will miss it if you aren't able to host again in 2020, but definitely want you to do whatever is best for you and your family.
Hi Gina,
I don't know if you remember me but I used to do Pasadena Daily Photo. I happened by here today, and thought I'd say hi.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My father had a stroke many years ago, and it was very tough. I guess strokes come in varying degrees of severity and I hope your dad's was not severe. But as you haven't posted for a few months, I'm afraid I might be wrong.
Life happens, and we have to go with it. I hope you're doing okay.
I'm narrating audiobooks these days, not writing as much (though I want to get back to it), and not taking nearly enough pictures. I hope you're still getting plenty of time to read.
