I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.
I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.
Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

The Shadow of a NooseA Ralph Compton Novel
by Ralph Cotton
Book two of a Trilogy, after Death Rides a Chestnut Mare. From amazon.com:
Young twins Jed and Tim Strange set out to find their sister, who left home to avenge their father's murder over a year ago. But when they're accused of a murder they didn't commit, they must go on the run to find the true killers.
I must admit that I only picked up the first book in the trilogy (Death Rides a Chestnut Mare) because of a Piers Anthony book, On a Pale Horse, which is about Death. I don't even remember why I was in the western section of the bookstore but I so enjoyed the trilogy I've branched out and read other western books. For me, who grew up with Science Fiction and Fantasy, a "Western" novel is no longer a reason to ignore a book.

This book sounds interesting. I will have to give it a try. I am also a fantasy, sci-fi and thriller girl myself. Thanks for letting me know that you had an exercise vacation. I am looking forward to hearing about why...if you are still wanting to share. Or I would love to hear about the exercise you did this week. Just remember...there is over a half a year left. Lots of time to make 400 miles. You can do it!
Cheer,
Shanae
