I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Challenge - Getting Lost in a Comfortable Book

Getting Lost in a Comfortable Book

and in case you don't want to read outside.....

Guidelines:

Make a post
link up (coming)
read 5 books from the list that you haven't read before

Woo Hoo! I'm in. Got my list and my post and I'm ready to go. Oh, wait it's not 2012 yet. But, anyway, I'm all set to start. Will link up as soon as you've got it ready.

I will definitely be joining you! I'm starring this post and I will be back to link up closer to start time. Sorry you didn't get more responses. =O( Pleased to see mine are on the list though. Are you sure I can't read Queen of the Damned again (it would be my 5th time)? Just kidding! ;O)

I see several that will probably be on my list: Hound of the Baskervilles, North and South, the Guernsey book, the Lilian Jackson Braun, and Irish country series. Yes, I own all of these! What a great excuse to finally get them read!

I'll be signing up as soon as the link appears. BTW, there's a typo in the name J.K. Rowling on this list, and I assume you meant The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, since L.M. Montgomery never wrote a book by that title, as far as I know.

JNCL: Thanks, I'll fix that but now I'm wondering if I'm missing a book ;)

Ooooo I am in! I was really bad with my reading challenges in 2011. I think I signed up for too many. :/ Lesson learned! I have my list already for this one. :)

I would really like to join your challenge. I speak French and my blog is in French, so my reviews would be in French. Would that be a problem? There are 8 books from your list that I own and have not read. Should not be a problem to pick 5!

I have a question! So, if I chose the Outlander series or the Harry Potter series, does that count as just 1 book from the list, or does each book from the series that we read count separately?

BlackWolf said...

same question as Darlene, and I want to know..in the Mist of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.. is it all the four books? or just the first .. Mistress of Magic?

Read any book on the list that you didn't personally send in. As for series....each title counts as one...some of us couldn't decide which of the books we wanted to be a favorite.

Thanks for the reply, Book Dragon!

I have already made my blog post: http://darlenesbooknook.blogspot.com/2011/11/getting-lost-in-comfortable-book-2012.html

I will sign up with Mr. Linky whenever it appears.

PS: I absolutely love the challenge badges!! I had to use them both :)

I'm in! Why I chose the particular books from the list...
-Echo in the Bone: I love the Outlander series, and I've been meaning to read #7 for months

-2 Phryne Fisher books: just found that series recently, like it alot

-Irish Country Doctor: the author is completely new to me, I like the description on GoodReads, and I love series, and I'll be in an Irish Reading Challenge too

-Happy All the Time: the author is completely new to me, and I like the description on GoodReads - it will be a nice change to read a happy book about relationships

Just finished Venetia by Georgette Heyer http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2012/04/venetia-review.html

Bev Hankins said...

Two down: finished Anne of Green Gables at the beginning of May. Had to change my list a bit. I could have sworn that our library had a copy of the Spy Wore Red--but if they did when I made up my list, they don't now. Had to sub in a "The Cat Who..." book.
