It's been an interesting year so far. I've lost both my Moms. My mother died in January after a long decline. Soon after, my Mother-in-Law went in for bypass surgery. While her heart healed, other issues zapped her strength and she died April 22.

I may have challenge update posts but I don't know when I'll be posting regularly or when I'll get to visit everyone who is working on the challenges I'm hosting.

Terrific Tuesday

In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster . . . . I started this book and as it is book two in a trilogy I'm familiar with the storyline. The first paragraph of the first chapter is uninspiring so I've use the prologue. It wasn't until I came across the teaser sentences that I knew I had to use the book.

Every Tuesday, she'll be posting the opening paragraph (maybe two) of her current read. Why don't you join us?

"As previously discussed, Mr. Scrope, my request is straightforward. I require you to kidnap Miss Eliza Cynster from London and deliver her to me here, in Edinburgh." McKinsey--as was still calling himself that; it was a perfectly good alias, after all--lounged in a booth at the rear of the dimly lit tavern, his gaze leveled on the man seated opposite. "You have had your two weeks to reconnoiter and consider. The only question remaining is whether you can deliver Eliza Cynster to me, unharmed and in good health, or not."

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme,
hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
1. Grab your current read Open to a random page
2. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page ~BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!~ make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!
3. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Turning the curricle in the empty road, he set Jasper pacing, then urged him to lengthen his stride. "It's the border for us, then Scotland beyond."

Absentminded scholar though he was, he had a damsel in distress to save.

Regency London during the season, 25-year-old Heather, a beautiful woman from a good family steps away from the balls she, and her kind, frequent and is kidnapped. Luckily a family friend sees it happen and she is rescued. Because of this, and the fact that any of the girls would have been acceptable, her sisters and cousins are basically under house arrest. So what's the harm in meeting an unknown someone in the back parlor of her brother's home during a party? Oops.
