I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Mailbox Monday needs a new home!

Life is full of challenges and opportunities. And life is handing me some of both. That said Mailbox Monday is looking for a home or someone to organize the tour hosts for next year.

I won’t be the one deciding how, or even if, Mailbox Monday goes on. I’ll be leaving that to those of you in the blogging community. I’m more than happy to post Mailbox Monday’s new permanent home or a blog tour list once it’s been put together.

I would like Mailbox Monday to go on if that’s what you all want.

Marcia
I have emailed Marcia and haven't heard back but like she said, she's leaving it up to the blogging community. In order for the blogging community to decide, it has to know!

The poll at Savvy Verse & Wit makes it sound like no one else offered to give MM a permanent home. She was just the first. Actually, I wasn't able to find "a poll" just a note in the MM

Since it it so close to 2014, why don’t we rotate one more year and she can have January.
January: Savvy Verse & Wit
February: Nishita’s Rants and Raves
March: From L. A. to LA
April: The Reading Date
May: BermudaOnion’s Weblog
June: I’s Rather Be At The Beach
July:Words and Peace
August:Book Dragon’s Lair
October: Silver’s Reviews
November: Sam Still Reading
December: Book Obsessed

Bob? Can you still be back up host?

sorry, bluestockingbb, I think your link was hacked. It looked like a photography site but I wasn’t able to read it.

edited: Suko's Notebook and Girlxoxo were also interested in hosting

edited: just in case you haven't read the comments, there is at poll on MM's blog, here

I'm all for a permanent home so someone is responsible for signing up hosts. It looks like you and Savvy Verse & Wit both want to do it -- maybe you can co-host? Or flip a coin?

I'm all for a permanent home too - that way we don't have to worry about a link showing up.

I haven't seen a poll listing all the blogs interested in hosting MM, but I know several of us are interested.

I do think it would be best if there was a permanent host and less confusing for all involved.

If that doesn't happen, then I'm fine hosting in April.

I've seen other link-ups where there are multiple hosts, and maybe that could work here? (Like the Follow Friday link-up with Allison Can Read and Parajunkee) You could have a single person by the permanent main host, but each month have a new co-host. The main host would just need to share the link-up code with each month's co-host. That way there's definitely at least one host every month, but it also gives other bloggers the opportunity to share each month. And maybe each year the permanent host could also rotate?

It was never my intention to suggest that no one offered to give Mailbox Monday a permanent home. It was suggested in the comments that someone do a poll.

Marcia said she would not be doing it anymore and leaving it up to the community, so I decided to create a poll. Given the transfer to new servers which unexpectedly happened this week with my blog, the poll was lost.

Suffice to say, I care only that MM continue and how the community would prefer it to do so.

Tomorrow a poll to gauge community interest in a permanent home or rotation of blogs will appear on the MM blog.

I'd like to see a permanent home for MM, and know there are many others like me, who would love to host it on our blogs. But, if the majority votes for rotating hosts, I'm ok with hosting for June.

I'll go to the MM blog tomorrow and vote.

I would totally love to host for February, works fine for me :). Thanks for doing this.

I'll be stopping by the mm blog to vote too. . . I'll work on telling the other people who posted about it but we all need to get the word out

Serena, didn't mean to be snarky, I was just confused.

I would like to see MM find a permanent home just because I always try to find out who is hosting for the month and tend to just post without linking.

I love MM just because I love seeing what you all get

woohoo, so happy to host it in July! thanks!!! what do I need to do? do I just pick up the code at mr Linky?
It should give me enough time to find a nice mailbox picture of my own, lol!!
I'm not against a permanent home, but I think taking turns would also help lots of book bloggers with more visibility. As long as we know clearly who is doing it when, no pb

I am all for a permanent home as well, but let's do what we can to keep Mailbox Monday going.

It is such a fun meme.

THANKS for the poll.

I will look for the poll tomorrow (or soon after) on the MM blog. Thanks for alerting me to this!

MM is a lot of fun to host (I hosted a year ago, for the month of Dec.), but it requires time and dedication on the part of the host.

I'm happy for rotation to continue as I enjoy finding new blogs to visit. However, the important thing is for MM to continue.
I'm happy to host in November 2014 if rotation is chosen.
