Just a heads up that I'm going dark for several weeks. I may still update posts/challenges but there will be no new content, not even Thursdays.

My Mom died and I'm taking each day as it comes, plus helping my Dad go through her stuff.

Jan 16 update: Mother-in-law, who I call Mom, is in the hospital for bypass surgery

Feb 19 update: MIL is home now :-D and slowly getting better. I'm still helping my Dad with Mom's stuff but since my brother is out of town, I'm spending 4 nights at his house every week for a month. It's MUCH closer to Dad's and they do meals together and hang out.

You Read How Many Books? - challenge information and to sign-up

You Read How Many Books?
Reading Challenge
2014

This year's host is Gina @ Book Dragon's Lair (that's me!)
Thanks to Amy at My Overstuffed Bookshelf for hosting the 150+ challenge the last few years, and allowing me to host this year, with changes :-)

DETAILS/RULES with Changes:
  1. Read, read, read!
  2. There are several levels to choose from
    Level 1: 100 minimum
    Level 2: 150 at least
    Level 3: 200 or more
  3. You may move up a level but not down
  4. You don't need a blog to participate. As long as wherever you link to is public so we can check out your books read.
  5. Reviews are not necessary (but there will be a post so you can link up) but a list of books read is.
  6. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.
  7. Books allowed: Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Manga, Graphic Novels, Library books, Novellas, Young Reader, Nonfiction – as long as the book has an ISBN or equivalent or can be purchased as such, the book counts.
  8. Individual short stories in a collection or individual books in the Bible do not count
  9. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.
  10. Challenge begins January 1st, 2014 thru December 31, 2014. Books started before the 1st do not count. You can join at anytime.
  11. Please sign up with a direct link so the rest of us can find your list of books read.

Here you go Lindsey!
and anyone else who needs it :-)

Ready? Start Reading!

With my blog offline, I'm linking to my Goodreads account. I'm signing up for tier 2: 150+ books. 100 is easy, 200 is out of reach, and 150 is doable, although it's a stretch for me.

Welcome everyone!

Stretches are good Elsi :-)

OK -- I've moved my reading blog and now have a post online about this challenge. See Reading Challenges. Of course, you're still welcome to visit my profile at Goodreads!

I'm in! Used my Goodreads profile and I will make a shelf just for this challenge.

Forgot to ask... do tou have a grab code for the challenge button? Copy & pasting the picture or the link to the picture doesn't work in Goodreads comments or status updates and I want to post that I signed up.

Thank you!

Thanks for hosting this! I'm glad you will allow non-fiction, short story anthologies and poetry anthologies! Those are three things I've challenged myself to read more of this year! Happy reading!

I managed 101 books in 2013 and are aiming for 100 this year.
I link it to my goodreads challenge.

How do you link your goodreads account I deleted the last comment because auto correct took over when I wasn't looking and my ? was turned into something about foreheads lol

jmisgro said...

Will there be a link for reviews?

Lindsey Greer-Smith said...

Will there be a monthly or quarterly linky to link up books read for this challenge or reviews?

Rachel R. said...

I can't get the code to work

Book Dragon said...

Rachel, I'll work on it next week then try to find you

A bit scary but I will upgrade to level 3 and read hard to hopefully make it 200 books this year.

I've made my level (150+)! Here is my wrap-up post with links to all reviews: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2014/10/challenge-complete-i-love-library-books.html
