I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Blogging A to Z Reflections

A to Z Blogging
Reflection

This is only my second year. 2014 was truly a mishmash of topics plus we had Disneyland passes so there were a lot of Disney related posts.

This year snuck up on me and I wasn't going to do it. I didn't have posts prepared, I didn't have a topic, and without Disney passes, I felt I didn't have a ready muse.

In steps my son, "You're a book blog, why don't you do book reviews". O_o

So that's what I did. 30 days. 26 letters. 26 book reviews. One letter cheated on (X-mas instead of Christmas). Plus two extra reviews (children's safety picture books).

Will I do this again next year? I'm already thinking about themes.

What will I do differently? Prepare more posts ahead of time.

Here's the breakdown. The list of books, with covers, is not finished.

3 unfinished books with partial reviews
4 nonfiction
22 fiction
8 print
18 ebook
0 audio
7 review books (sent to me to review)
17 new reads
14 new authors
12 were part of a series
3,071 pages of finished books

Nonfiction categories:
inspirational
humor
travelogue
true crime/book collecting

Fiction categories:
2 - picture books
2 - middle school (1 mystery & 1 folktale)
1 - young adult (fairytale retelling)
1 - horror
1 - psychological Thriller
15 - Romance:
  1 - contemporary romantic suspense
  1 - Christian contemporary romance
  3 - m/m contemporary romance
  5 - mainstream contemporary romance
  1 - sci-fi romance
  1 - mainstream paranormal romance
  3 - m/m paranormal romance

That's a lot of reading and reviewing. I picked up about 7 books during the challenge and now they're waiting on my Kindle.

Hello there.
Congratulations on completing the challenge! I didn't get to visit your blog during the crazy month of April so I'm popping over today from the Road Trip/Reflections linky.
