I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Hosting - Pages Read

Pages Read
2017

Hosted here at The Lair

How many pages can you read this year?

This challenge isn't about how many books you read but rather how many pages. After all, it isn't fair that I might read 4 titles and another might read 2 titles but we've read the same number of pages!

I'll work on getting a html code for the challenge button.

Levels
Bonsai - Read 12,000 pages
Shrub - Read 24,000 pages
Dwarf Peach - Read 36,000 pages
Apple Tree - Read  48,000 pages
Oak - Read 60,000 pages
Douglas Fir - Read 72,000 pages
Sequoia - Read 84,000 pages
Redwood - Read 84,001+ pages

So you can only be a Sequoia if you read exactly 84,000 pages? Or is it 72,000-84,000 pages?

I have a question: If I listen to an audiobook, can I convert that to a page count to count for this challenge (go by the # of pages in the book)?

This looks hard, I'm not entirely sure whether I can read 12,000 pages in a year, but I'm more than willing to give it a go!

I wonder the same thing!

After seeing how many pages I've read just in the first 9 days of the challenge, I'm changing my level. I'm going from Dwarf Peach to the Oak level. I might even be able to hit the Douglas Fir level, but I think Oak is a good starting point. :)

I know that it's way late, but I hope that it's ok that I just signed up.
Please let me know asap if it's not ok.
Thanks. I am sorry I didn't sign up in January. I'll make sure to next year.

I met the level (Bonsai) that I wanted but not the pages (17,000). My actual pages read was 16,044. Here's my wrap up post: https://catonthebookshelf.wordpress.com/2018/01/01/2017-reading-challenges-wrap-up/
