I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Str8te Boys by Evangeline Anderson

How far would you dare to go…to win it all?

Maverick Holms and Duke Warren share almost everything—a college soccer team, an apartment and the same extremely competitive nature. Thanks to that never-back-down spirit, they’re about to share more than they bargained for.

The game is “gay chicken”. The rule: get as close as possible without kissing, and the one that pulls away first is the loser. The problem: neither of them likes to lose. It isn’t long before the game becomes an excuse to touch and kiss in every possible forbidden way. And after they pose for a gay website to earn extra money, things really heat up.

Suddenly Duke is talking lifetime commitment, and Mav is backpedaling as hard as he can, not sure if he’s ready to accept all his best friend is offering him. Or the truth about what he is.

Thick and Creamy by Shea Balik
Cedar Falls, book 10 of 16
(over 18, m/m, BDSM - not the best intro to the series but still a good addition)

Welcome to Cedar Falls, a small North Carolina town nestled amongst the Smokey Mountains, where the people are friendly and the men are hot.

The moment Taden McIntire’s gaze lands on Will Cunningham he's fascinated by the blue-eyed blonde. Even when he's rejected, Taden can’t seem to take his mind off the sinfully sexy man.

Will Cunningham shouldn’t be surprised when his boyfriend—well, ex-boyfriend—not only dumps him on New Year’s Eve but also strands him in a small town two hours from their apartment in Atlanta. Just when he thinks this might go down as the worst New Year’s ever, Taden quite literally walks into his life and refuses to leave.

There is something about Taden that calls to the sub in Will, but he’s made a promise to never go down that road again. Can Will get over his past hang ups and give Taden a chance?

Wishing Day by Lauren Myracle
Wishing Day, book 1

On the third night of the third month after a girl’s thirteenth birthday, every girl in the town of Willow Hill makes three wishes.

The first wish is an impossible wish.

The second is a wish she can make come true herself.

And the third is the deepest wish of her secret heart.

Natasha is the oldest child in a family steeped in magic, though she’s not sure she believes in it. She’s full to bursting with wishes, however. She misses her mother, who disappeared nearly eight long years ago. She has a crush on one of the cutest boys in her class, and she thinks maybe it would be nice if her very first kiss came from him. And amid the chaos of a house full of sisters, aunts, and a father lost in grief, she aches to simply be… noticed.

So Natasha goes to the willow tree at the top of the hill on her Wishing Day, and she makes three wishes. What unfolds is beyond anything she could have imagined.
