I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Hosting Where are You Reading?

2017's Where are You Reading?

Hosted here at Book Dragon's Lair

This one is all about places. There's one about states but this one counts cities, counties, and fictional locations too. Read a book set in a location for each letter of the alphabet. West Virginia only counts for W, Bowling Green only counts for B, but the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey that is on a fictional planet counts as P ;-)

You don’t need a blog to participate. Feel free to link to a Goodreads shelf or another public profile where everyone can see your books.

There is one hard rule, one just for general courtesy, and several guidelines. There are no levels, unless you want to do a second set of letters.

Hard Rules
The book in question must have an ISBN or equivalent. If you can buy it or borrow it, it counts -

General Courtesy
When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post. That way we can find it.

  • You can list your books in advance or as you read them. You can also change your list.
  • Any format, any genre or length of book counts but it must be the complete book, individual books in a collection do not count separately
  • Anyone can join, you don’t need to be a blogger, just let me know in the comments.
  • Reviews are not necessary but a list of books you read is. There will be a link up for reviews if you wish to post them. You can make a list of books you want to read and change them if you'd like.
  • Crossovers for other challenges count
  • Books started before January 1st, 2017 don’t count - unless you start over ;-)

I enjoyed a similar challenge last year but didn't see it hosted this year. I hope you enjoy it too.

I'm in and looking forward to how this challenge developes during my reading year. Thank you for hosting.

And I'm so very sorry about your mom. Good thoughts to you and your dad during this difficult time.

Thanks J.G.!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that you can find peace and comfort in the days ahead. My best to you and your dad.

I am in for the challenge. Since you mention books from before Jan 1 NOT counting, I've taken the liberty of assuming that anything read after Jan 1 does count and have added books I've read so far.

This sounds like a lot of fun so I'm in.

Exactly Bev! And thanks.

Honey, I'm so sorry about your mom. Love and hugs!

So sorry about your "other" mom, too! Prayers going up.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. And your other Mom as well, although I hope that she will get through it all right. We hope for the best.

I am looking forward joining this challenge. It should hopefully be a lot of different places all over the world.

Take care!

Looking for the Where are You Reading? progress page--I can't seem to find it. (Certainly no rush on this! I've only finished one book so far.)

So sorry to hear of your additional loss. Prayers for you to help with your healing.

I've completed my bookish traveling! Well--I've covered the alphabet, anyway. I'm sure I'll be visiting plenty more bookish places before the year's up. Thanks, for hosting! And I hope we'll be traveling again next year. Here's my wrap-up:

I have also completed my bookish travels! This was very fun and I got them all except one through my regular reading. I had to get the Q from Interlibrary Loan, but all the rest just came as I read my shelves. Thanks for hosting and here's my wrap-up post:
