Oh, boy. Truly a a good example of BDSM.

Jamie and Loland are both subs without a Sir. Loland is searching but Jamie can hardly leave the house and when Loland brings the man he wants to be his Sir home, Jamie takes a swing at him with a baseball bat! Not the easiest of meetings.

Jamie is fearful but strong, loyal to a fault and willing to do what he must. Loland is overprotective, with good reason. And Seth. Seth is a Dom. A good one. One used to being obeyed, willing to be patient with new subs, and quickly losing his heart to both men.

dang, I read book two before writing this.... let's see. Fighting, kidnapping, angry Gods, angrier Keepers, and several half-Gods (offspring of a God and a Keeper). One of the half-Gods has an attitude, just like a rotten apple, giving all half-Gods a bad name. The most sadistic of his behavior is off-screen, we just see the results. Wait, a spiked ball gag? Shudder, I think that was the worst.

But, after everything is said and done this is a love story. The three main characters is this story are having a horrible time but they are working on a relationship that is a love story.

This one could possibly be read as a stand-alone. The pain Zeke felt when his brother didn't come back comes through very well. So does his confusion about Reid and his feelings about his brother. I really liked this addition to the series.

I'm just as angry as Edward as to the men who say they are Doms but have such total lack of regards for the men in their care. They are not "Doms" and are as a rotten apple, spoiling the rest of the barrel (the world's view) of the whole D/s culture.

What's a man to do when his friends show up late a night asking for a favor?

Edward takes in a submissive who was disowned by his last Dom, left on his own at a club with only the clothes on his back. And it turns out, he's injured.

Mark hasn't had any proper training, doesn't realize that being a submissive can be more than about pain, doesn't realize that the sub chooses the Dom. Now add in the fact that Edward's sub has been dead for two years, they'd been together 20+ years, and he hasn't replaced him and poor Mark has a serious case of insecurity.

The story is short, sweet and fast, taking place mostly over the weekend. I liked that both characters had insecurities and the author let us hear their inner monologue.

Beautiful ending.

Max's first fire with his new job is the police station. He meets Finn when he goes in to save him.  Finn grew up in Ellery and has a regular Friday night with his friends and that's our introduction to half of the three couples in the series.

I was thinking it would be a quick, light hearted read but it wasn't. Yes there was humor but there were several places where my breath speed up or got caught in my throat.

I loved how the roots of being in the same small town kept popping up for Finn and the love and support he's shown.

Wishing now that I had bought book two as well...off to go shopping!

I didn't feel lost when I read this one, even though I didn't read the first two books in the series. Jason is believable in his grief, the small town is believable in leaving him alone (almost), and Kieran is a sweetheart!

We also meet the couples from the first two books but instead of making me think "Oh, I know how the book ended" I'm thinking "wonder how they got there".

This could be read as a stand alone but is so much better when read as part of a series. There is a lot of back story in the previous books. That being said. It's been awhile and countless number of books ago since I read the others and I did just find.

Peter is a sweet character in a bad spot with his family but he learned that the family you choose can be a whole lot better than the one you're born into. Chaz doesn't have the family problem, his is pain meds. Chaz's life revolves around the rodeo. He's a clown and one of the important parts of the ring for he holds the rider's safety in his ability to distract the bulls. Hard to do when you're hurting, thus the pain medicine.

Does Chaz love the rodeo more then he loves Peter? That becomes the big question and the solution was unexpected.

They bought part of it back, and asked Carlos and his partners to make the place successful again. It’s a chance he grabs with both hands once his guys agree, but there are challenges for all of them, and Will’s desire to make the place specifically LGBT-employee friendly and safe may cause more trouble than they already find when the get to their new home.

From a situation in town that reminds Will all too much of his own abusive past, to the surprising support of many of the townsfolk, the trio find themselves facing new challenges and reaching for the love and support that grows stronger between them.

We've meet Carlos, Troy and Will in another series. It isn't necessary to have read the other series to enjoy this one, it only give a little background on how the three guys met. Plus, they were only supporting characters in one of the books. I'm happy to see they have their own series.

This felt real. Small-town at it's best and worst. I am disappointed in the length, not long enough! Most of the questions are answered, leaving us with a satisfying read and a little cliffhanger.

It was good to revisit the Good Brothers. Lilly's pregnant, Rawley is Mayor, Garron is Sherriff. And Sonny is struggling with his ranch. The seizures are getting worse and he's ready to give up. This is a happy-ever-after, at least for right now, because we never know what the future holds and need to enjoy each moment we have.
