I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Purrsday

just a place to share the cute/funny/weird pictures I find while surfing....when I should be doing a whole range of things ;) Don't forget to head over to The True Book Addict because Michele has a meme going. With links and everything!

I thought I had already typed this up so please forgive me if it gets posted twice! If it does, I'll fix it but I don't know if I'll notice it right away.

This isn't a happy post but the pictures are nice.

My cat Sneakers crossed the Rainbow Bridge last week. The vet didn't think he was even healthy enough to make it through getting him healthy enough for surgery. Sneakers passed quietly while cuddling with me, assisted by the vet. I'm so glad my son (27) was there. Not only did he drive us to the vet so I could hold Sneakers, he drove me home. Plus he was able to say good-bye to Sneakers also.

It was the right decision but it still hurts.

His box was by our bathroom, I guess my going reminded him that he needed to!

He demanded lap space. At least I wasn't trying to type

Sneakers spent most of his last week on my lap

Saying Good-bye

I'm so sorry about your kitty. How old was he? He's such a sweet looking cat, though I've always had a soft spot for black cats. Cats (all pets really) are so hard to lose but it's wonderful that you were with him.

Thanks Kimberly,

As near as we can tell he and his sister are 16. We could have just brought him home but this way he died in my arms rather than us coming home or waking up and finding him gone. I didn't want him to die alone.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have had to say goodbye to my guinea pig this year. It's very sad, but you have good memories.

I'm glad you could be there for him in the end and that it was peaceful. I know how much it hurts even when it's the right decision. He was darling <3

I'm so sorry, Gina. It really is such a hard decision and saying goodbye is heartbreaking. My mom had to make that decision for her cat, Emma, last Thursday. We've all been very sad, and mom is heartbroken.

I'm posting an in memoriam this week on Cat Thursday for your Sneakers, and for mom's Emma. I hope you don't mind that I grabbed one of your pics to share in the post.

Thanks everyone

Sneakers is now in a box on our mantle. They sent home a really nice poem but I haven't been able to read the whole thing yet. Just read the first few lines and the tears showed up.
