I've been gone a while. I started reading fanfiction to escape and I got sucked in an abyss.

I have no idea if someone else is hosting similar challenges. I just grabbed some of what I have hosted before.

Here's to a happy year of great reading
Jan2023: Not much has changed. Writing a fanfiction now O_o as well as reading but I bought 7 new books in December and hope to get those read soon. Crossing fingers about adding challenges (late!)

Woo Hoo, let's start the year off with a BANG! My goals are going to be different this time. Usually I just pick a number of books and/or pages. This time my plan is more specific
  • read, and review, an ARC
  • A Sherlock Holmes story
  • something for a monthly challenge
  • something for a challenge other than print/audio/ebook
Only three or four? Yeah, the number is no problem, it's the specific requirements that is! Only the Sherlock Holmes story is a have-to-read-this-week, three of the others just need to be read during the month.

~ Books Read ~
  1. The Adventure of the Gloria Scott by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  2. Alone for Christmas by Ashley John
  3. Wish by Barbara O'Connor
  4. Lost Cat by Roger Mader
  5. Buried Passions by Aiden Bates
  6. Adrenaline Rush by Aiden Bates
  7. Gertrude and Toby Meet the Wolf by Shari Tharp
  8. Screw Santa by Joyee Flynn

~ Possiblities ~
  • Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (Classic Horror)
  • Title has . . . Court, Fall, Of, Way, Deep or Thousand (Monthly Keyword) - Out of the Pocket!
  • Out of the Pocket by Bill Konigsberg (Monthly Keyword, Monthly Motif, and Homework Assignment)
  • 1984 by George Orwell (Sci-fi, Banned/Challenged, and What in a Name?)
  • an ARC - Gertrude and Toby Meet the Wolf? or see Blogger Shame
  • The Man with the Golden Gun (This Island Reader and Color Coded)
  • Valentine Kittens anthology (In a Year and What an Animal)
  • The Gloria Scott by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes)

Day 1
Introduce Yourself #insixwords

The challenge is simple: introduce yourself on Twitter, Instagram, or on this post using six words, no more, no less. Use the hashtags #boutofbooks and #insixwords so we can learn all about you.

BONUS: Share a picture of your smiling face or your bookshelves! (You can learn a lot about a person from their bookshelves!)

Day 2
2017 in Pictures - here

Share your goals/plans/etc. for 2017 with your fellow #boutofbooks-ers. These could be book goals, life goals, or goals for ANYTHING you're looking to tackle in 2017. Take a picture of the books you plan on reading this year! Share a vision board of what you're trying to accomplish! Use the hashtags #BoB2017Goals and #boutofbooks and let us cheer you on!

Day 3
Book to Movie

Have a book you think would make an excellent movie? Now's your chance to share it! Go as big or as simple as you want. Share fanart, casting choices, or just a book or series you think would be OUTSTANDING on the big screen. Use the hashtags #BoBBookToMovie and #boutofbooks to share your picks!

Day 4
Book Spine Poetry

A perennial favorite is back! Go hunting through your books and unleash your inner poet! Use the titles of your chosen books to create a poem. Snap a picture of your creation and share it with the hashtags #BookSpinePoetryBoB and #boutofbooks.

Day 5
If You Like This, Try This

Since we all love recommending books, here's your chance to share the love. Example: If you like paranormal romance with bloodthirsty vikings, try Shelly Laurenston's Call of Crows series. Make sure you use the hashtags #BoBIfYouLikeThis and #boutofbooks on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, so we can see your recs.

I'm glad you're joining the fun! I hope you're able to read the books you want to. My book club read Frankenstein for October. Sadly, I was in a reading slump and didn't get it done. I hope to read it at some point, though.
